Dallas School of Music Application Process
A $35 registration fee is required for each application submitted.
Enrollment Terms
Tuition: Tuition and fees must be paid before a student is admitted to a lesson, class or ensemble. Students are not considered registered until payment has been made. There is a non-refundable application fee of $35 per student and curriculum fees may apply throughout each semester. Tuition is charged for the full semester and may not be paid weekly or monthly; however, a split payment option is available. Students must register in person at DSM. All tuition and additional fees, are non-refundable. A $20.00 fee will be assessed to Student’s account for any returned checks. Families choosing a single semester enrollment plan may elect to use a split payment plan. This plan is available for Fall and Spring Semesters only. Split payments are administered through Intuit’s automated processing Center using a MasterCard, VISA, or Discover Card. There is a $15 non-refundable fee each semester for choosing the split payment option. First Payment: Application fee, split payment fee, curriculum fee, and half of your tuition are due at the time of registration. Second Payment: The full balance of tuition will be processed October 1 for Fall Semester enrollments and February 1 for Spring Semester enrollments. A late fee ($15.00) is charged to students who register after the first day of the semester. The late fee only applies to continuing students who received a renewal form. It does not apply to new students, or to continuing students who are registering to study a new instrument. It is charged one time per semester, per family. DSM reserves the right to suspend instruction when students do not meet their financial obligations; students are still liable for the full cost of instruction. Tuition credit or make-up lessons are not given as a result of lessons missed due to suspension.
Missed/Canceled/Tardy Sessions: Student can re-schedule two (2) sessions a semester. Student can reschedule a session during the week of a regularly scheduled session, a week prior to the regularly scheduled session, or a week after the regularly scheduled session. If Student is unable to attend a session time within this three week period the missed session is permanently cancelled. If Student fails to attend a session without notifying DSM, no re-scheduling is permitted. Client is responsible for tuition regardless of whether Student attends any session. DSM does not guarantee a full session time if Student is late to a session. Schedule/Faculty Change: Throughout the duration of this enrollment, requests for schedule changes may be made. If the day, time, and faculty of a requested schedule change are available, DSM will execute the first schedule change free of charge; a fee of $15.00 will be assessed to Client’s account for each and any subsequent schedule change. Currently scheduled sessions continue without interruption until the requested change becomes effective. DSM reserves the right to substitute and/or change Student's Faculty at any time. Instruments and Supplies: With the exception of pianos and percussion instruments, Student must supply his or her own instruments; amplifiers will be available for electronic instruments. Student is responsible for educational supplies and teaching materials assigned by the Faculty, such as software, books, and sheet music.
